Sanctity of Human Life Sunday: January 19, 2020

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart..."

~ Jeremiah 1:5

Imagine the loss. Since 1973, when abortions became legal in the United States, mankind has lost more than 56 million lives.

Since 1983, Americans have observed Sanctity of Human Life Sunday (SOHLS) as a day to celebrate the gift of every human life. This important day also provides an opportunity for pregnancy centers to share the work they do to bring life-affirming resources to their communities and to empower women and men to choose life for their unborn children.

Sanctity of Human Life Sunday is held on the Sunday in January that falls closest to the day on which the Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton decisions were handed down by the U.S. Supreme Court on January 22, 1973. The next SOHLS will take place on January 20, 2019.

How can you be involved?

  • Support the Knights of Columbus breakfast held at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.  Breakfast is served from 7:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. and includes pancakes, breakfast burritos, sausage, biscuits and gravy, coffee and juice.  Any donations will be accepted.  All proceeds benefit the Buena Vista Pregnancy Center.

  • Visit your local church and take a “wish tag” from the baby table. Each tag represents an item to be purchased for a client or for Center operations.

  • We are having a Baby Bottle Challenge on Facebook.  Pick up a baby bottle at your church or the Center and fill it with spare change.

  • Pray for the babies to be born in 2019; that their parents would choose life for them.

We thank BVPC supporters who faithfully donate items for our "storehouse" so the Center can continue to meet the needs of clients.

Thank you for celebrating the Sanctity of Human Life along with us!
