Fourth of July Float:

Wide-eyed children, moms and dads, grandmothers, and moms-to-be met on the morning of July 4.  It was Parade Day, and the youngsters were eager to get the "float on the road."
Bags of candy, sunscreen, and water bottles in hand, nearly 30 children and attentive adults boarded the float. As they proceeded down Main Street, two boys began a candy throwing competition, the faster and father, the better.
The 4th of July in Buena Vista is a community celebration, and the Pregnancy Center float was a favorite as smiling children, feeling like celebrities, enthusiastically tossed candy to the waving crowd!   Candy bags we almost empty before the float reached the halfway point.  As the float returned to its starting point, children gladly received a bag of candy to thank them for participating.  In spite of the heat and tired kids, a good time was had by all.
