Client
Advocate Counselor:
As
a Client Advocate Counselor at the BVPC, you are called
to:
- Have
a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
- Pro-Life
Commitment
- Speak
the Truth in Love
- Minister
to the client, not manipulate the client
- Know
that the client is scared, overwhelmed, but also has
strengths
- Be
humble, give unconditional love, be genuine, and show
empathy
- Demonstrate
healthy communication skills
- Hold
all information given in strict confidence
- Walk
a client through the crisis cycle
- Continue
to love and support the client, praying continually
for God's will to be done in His way
Each
Client Advocate Counselor is given 8 week (one night a
week) of training on methods of counseling. Throughout
the training, we pray God reveals Himself to you and teaches
you in a very special way. You may gain new insight, a
relationship will be transformed, or healing may take
place in your own life. Whatever His plans are, God may
be calling you to this ministry for a reason.
