Terry
Allen
Terry Allen and her husband, Jeff,
have lived in Buena Vista for almost 22 years. They
have an awesome family of 5 children, 1 son-in-law,
1 granddaughter and another grandchild due in November.
Terry was a registered nurse for several years before
laying that aside to stay at home full time and raise
our her family. She has volunteered many times with
the Pregnancy Center in Grand Junction, Buena Vista
and Salida. She has trained as a counselor and has worked
with Education for Life as well as doing office help
at the BVPC. Terry is such a huge believer in the mission
of the Pregnancy Center, because it is so important
to support and educate people who find themselves in
a crisis pregnancy, and to show them the love of the
Heavenly Father who has given us all life. |

Julie
Baker (Secretary)
Julie
serves as secretary of the BVPC Board. In addition to
farming in the San Luis Valley, Julie and her husband,
Troy, operate Vista Transport Services, a freight-brokerage
company. The Bakers and their two children moved to
Buena Vista on Memorial Day, 2005. Julie speaks for
her family when she says, "We feel very blessed
to belong to this community." She considers it
a true privilege to serve with so many fine people on
the Board. "I was drawn to the BVPC by its loving
outreach to young women and couples needing Godly guidance
during their time of need."

Joe
Black
In addition to serving on the
BVPC Board, Joe is active in several civic and nonprofit
organizations. His education and experience in management
lend themselves well to his work with the Center. After
15 years with a private textile research company, Joe
founded an international consulting company and served
as its president. In 1996, he and his wife, Kathy, moved
from South Carolina to Buena Vista. “We love the
Buena Vista area and its people,” says Joe. The
couple enjoys outdoor activities and traveling.

Amy
Creek
Amy Creek comes to the Pregnancy
Center after moving to the area three years ago. Her
husband, Kevin, is working full-time building houses
with Amy's dad while Amy does the painting. They have
one outgoing and energetic four-year-old son, Cody.
Amy gave her life to God many years ago and currently
attends ClearView Community Church. Amy's heart for
saving babies came after she lost her first child to
miscarriage. She wanted to find a way to come alongside
women but had no counseling background. She does, however,
have clerical and business skills which indirectly allows
her to help mothers through the BVPC Board. It is her
wish that God shows these women that babies are a most
precious gift and should be given a chance at life.

Joe
Demoor (Board President)
Joe serves on the BVPC Board to
help mothers and fathers choose life — for themselves
and their children. “Parenting or relinquishing
a child for adoption is challenging, but post-abortion
anguish is a difficult cross to bear,” says Joe.
“The love and support our Center provides is a
true blessing for our community.” As the single
parent of three children, Joe understands the complexities
of today’s word. He has worked with youth ministries
for 32 years and has plans to retire from a career in
financial services soon. |

Vaughn
Hollenbeck
Vaughn Hollenbeck and his wife Jonni
have been married for 52 years and have 5 children, 17
grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. Vaughn became
a Christian at age 12 and committed himself to full-time
Christian service at the age of 16. He attended Bible
College and graduated from Central Christian College in
1962. During college, he pastured several churches before
moving to Buena Vista, where he has pastured three churches
over the years. He also served on the boards of Darren
Patterson Christian Academy and Arkansas Valley Christian
Mission in BV. In 2006, he retired as senior pastor from
Agape Fellowship and presently serves with Clear View
Community Church. |

Deb
Kuennen
Since retiring from the United States Air Force after
20 years service in 1999, Deb has spent the last 10 years
working as a “stay at home Mom” and serving
her local community in a variety of volunteer positions.
One of the most rewarding was her association with the
Gabriel Project in College Station, TX. This program is
similar to the mission of the BVPC and helps women in
crisis pregnancies. Following her husband’s retirement
from the Air Force, Deb, Steve and their two sons moved
to Buena Vista Labor Day Weekend 2007. Although relatively
new to the area, she and her family have quickly become
involved in the local community and their church, St Rose
of Lima. She is excited to serve the Buena Vista Pregnancy
Center as a member of its board and to assist in furthering
its goal of reaching out to and supporting women and couples
as they “choose life”. |

Kathy
Steckman
Ray and I moved to Buena Vista 3 1/2 years ago from
Haymarket, VA where we had lived for almost 20 years.
For a short time I volunteered at the Crisis Pregnancy
Center in Manassas, VA. We have 4 daughters, 2
in Colorado and 2 in Virginia, one whom is married.
I work at the Buena Vista Drug/Gift store. I enjoy walking,
hiking, tennis and travelling the USA by car.
I believe God created life and that we are unique, valuable
and "precious in His sight."
